I looked at that but wasn't entirely clear what it would do; from a Google I got the impression that it doesn't do what most people seem to think it does and as I don't think it would help with the redirect from ServerAlias to ServerName I thought I'd stay well away :-) As I understood it though it meant that any time Apache had to convert /foo into a full URL it would generate it as http://<ServerName>/foo rather than http://<whatever alias got me here>/foo - but I couldn't then think of any situations where it would apply in order to decide if that's what I wanted (and in any case if I've already redirected to <ServerName> from any other alias it should be redundant.
