Hi, I contacting this group to gain support, raise the profile of and hopefully inspire a few of you to sign up for a free local event that is being run to support local based software craftsmanship.
"International Global Code Retreat Day" is a world-wide event celebrating passion and software craftsmanship. (see links below) http://coderetreat.org/about http://globalday.coderetreat.org/ Agile Peterborough is hosting a session of GDCR at Saxon House in Orton Southgate. WiFi (although probably not as fast as LINX) will be provided, along with drinks (Coffee / Tea / Etc), lunch and breakfast. The Event is based around developers pairing for 6*45 min sessions working on Conway's Game of Life (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conway's_Game_of_Life). During each session code is started from scratch and a new constraint is attempted, constraints might range from don't touch the mouse or no conditional statements through to no naked primitives. It's a day of learning and development for anyone interested in development.
