Hi Mark,
Presumably you're signed up to raspberrypi.org and view the forums etc ? The
twitter feed also has some interesting news at times
Did you actually manage to order one, or just to register interest ?
Cheers
Derek

Subject: [Peterboro] ARM

I'm looking to start learning about Linux on ARM.

I have a Raspberry Pi on order, and also one of these boards from eBay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tiny6410-4-3-android-S3C6410-ARM11-development-board-/220772707814

Both use ARM1176JZF-S (ARMv6) although from different manufacturers and
therefore with differences in areas like the GPU.

I also have an EfikaMX
(http://www.newit.co.uk/shop/proddetail.php?prod=Smarttop) which uses a
Cortex-A8 (ARMv7), and a GuruPlug (ARMv5). The EfikaMX I have up and running
(it only needed switching on :-), I've never had much luck with the GuruPlug.

I note that Ubuntu (my normal distro of choice) has dropped support for ARMv6
(ARMv7 is the minimum now). I know very little about getting Linux up and
running on non-x86 hardware so this could all be an interesting learning
experience. My aim is simple: to progress past the point of buying new toys to
a point where they do something!

Anyone here have any experience? When the kit arrives I may even make it to a
PLUG meet with it.
