Not a guru (not even a beginner) but I think it’s down to layers, adding a new
layer and making it the transparent layer or something along those lines
Pls repost if you sort it out ☺

Subject: [Peterboro] Any GIMP Guru's On-List

Hi All

I hope this will be a simple thing to resolve!

I have a small graphic (jpg) which has a plain white background. What i would
like to do (if possible) is make the background transparent so that I can use
the foreground as an overlay.

Sounds simple, been scratching my head for hours now :)
