Good one Paul. I hope this works (fingers crossed). Public services
around the world have already gone Linux and saving loads as well as
providing a reliable IT infrastructure. There was a recent news about a
German mayor who talked about their reduction in costs and customer
complaints since they have migrated to Linux. Then again UK has always
been conservative about things like this. I presented this idea while
working at a local council and was given the answer that the current
software/OS licenses will cost less in the long run rather than
implementing an open source solution, etc. I never got the explanation
I requested. Just good ol' red tape. Cheerio!
