Yes Mark your right  and I find it very anorning I feel the clipboard should be 
in the OS and not the app so that it is persistent (I think I rember it being 
so in OS 2 and MAC):  but that was not what I was getting at.

What I ment was using the functions within the same app:  My first wordprosser 
was WordPerfect 4.1 flowed by WordPerfect 5 then Office 95, VI, StarOffice, 
OpenOffice, Nano, Pages and some where along the way Editor

I was only told what cut and past did once when using WP 4.1 Apart from WP 5 
witch I had to use "help" to find out how and I have never tryed in "VI" :-) (I 
wander why I have never tryed)LOL (I do use VI a lot) I have always managed to 
find the cut & past functions.   Infact I would say that was the job of a 
computer-human interface to make the use of any given function intuitive.
