Hi all,

I know I should probably keep my mouth shut as I am bound to put my foot
in it but here goes.

The meeting that was mentioned, I believe took place at the school in
Bretton that we were kindly allowed the use of.

At this time the LUG was and still is very much leaderless, and the
meetings were not structured. I myself (as most who have met me at the
meetings) am usually the one most responsible for the fragmentation of
the meetings as I usually bring a problem (i.e. I have 'hosed' my system
by doing something silly) which I need help fixing.

I realise that we have lost the use of the LINX offices for the monthly
meeting now, but there is another thread that Mark has started that I
think we should concentrate on as it has a more positive feel to it.
This new thread is about how we as a LUG move on from where we are and
hopefully improve the usefulness (to all members) and openness of the
LUG.

I would like to urge members of this mailing list to read and if
possible respond to the new thread entitled 'LUG future' with
constructive suggestions and if possible offers of help or dare I say it
someone stepping up to be the LUG 'chair'.

This mailing list is made up of a lot of people, not all of which have
met. The LUG meetings are a chance for us to meet and learn about Linux
and each other, I for one hope that we can continue to hold them and
improve on them.

Finally can we please stop with negative comments about the past and not
turn the new thread into a flame-war.

Regards
Stuart L.
