Hi

There are several of us here that feel your pain, I came from Windows
myself, and Ubuntu is a great place to start in getting involved with FOSS.
The important thing is not if you fall at the first or second hurdle -
because you will - the important thing is to get up, dust yourself off, and
email the list with any problems you have and one of us has had the same
problems and came up with a solution, Linux is great, and Ubuntu is perfect
for Windows converts - I have never looked back, but do'nt forget Linux has
its place, and so does Windows, if you are a gamer, my advise is to stick
with Windows (you get a better experience on some of teh more high end
titles IMHO), although you'd be surprised at what Linux can run under Wine,
CrossoverGames and / or Cedega.

Have fun and let us know if you get stuck, just. Linux has come a long way
and unbuntu has taken a lot of teh stress out of installing and configuring
Linux on the Desktop - so don't give up on it, just ask us for help, you'll
learn so much - and as they say - no pain no gain.
