Re: Steve / Malc's thread about resurrecting a project vs joining one, well my 2-pennyworth based not upon my (almost non-existent, but growing) programming skills but upon my experience of music, is that Malc is right.
Although your proposal sounds interesting enough, why not face your fears and throw yourself into 'the energy?' My analysis is that you may either fail or succeed, but you won't end up regretting it. But dusting off some old hobby-horse is unlikely to help improve your skills. I know what you mean about wanting to get involved with developing. My degree was in Social Anthropology and i'm struggling to learn to code at all. In 2007 I went volunteering to Madagascar (yes where they've just sworn in a dj as president) and helped set up a Linux computer laboratory and that's how I actually found out about open source. You'd be amazed at the computer wizz-kids in third world countries... Well good luck anyhow. -Jonny On Mon, Mar 23, 2009 at 12:00 PM, <peterboro-requ...@mailman.lug.org.uk>wrote: > Send Peterboro mailing list submissions to > peterboro@mailman.lug.org.uk > > To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit > https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/peterboro > or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to > peterboro-requ...@mailman.lug.org.uk > > You can reach the person managing the list at > peterboro-ow...@mailman.lug.org.uk > > When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific > than "Re: Contents of Peterboro digest..." > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
