Hi Edward,

I have a Canon iP4300 which works extremely well with Ubuntu. But the
real secret is a bit of software called TurboPrint (www.turboprint.de).
This allows you to use just about any printer you like and gives full
control over all features, e.g. ink levels, nozzle check, test print,
paper source, plus very extensive colour controls, very little of which
you can do using the native CUPS system in Ubuntu. It costs about £20,
but is more than worth it.

Dave
