I recently came across an unmounted herbarium specimen with same pattern of burrowing/feeding on the paper enclosing the specimen. Although it appears the infestation had not been active for decades, I did find frass and cigarette beetles with the specimen. The specimen was placed in the freezer for a week as a precaution.

Learn why this is important<https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification> Hello, I was shown two volumes that have evidence of burrowing/feeding through pages and even the covers. I assume that these could be this could be the work of countless species, I'm guessing that this was likely a larva of some kind, but I don't know for sure. I didn't find any bodies or feces in either books or on the shelves they were on, so I have my suspicions that this could've been from along ago, but I wanted to share because I haven't encountered anything like this before. Should these books be isolated from other collections? Thank you.
