Hello Pest list-

We have a wooden frame for a painting that is showing signs of pest
activity (exit holes with frass).

The exact insect species is unknown- nothing found live or dead.

The frame has been assessed and is seen as "able to be frozen", so will be
frozen for precautionary reasons.

I remember hearing back in the day people would do the "double freeze" for
wood boring beetles because they were more resilient.

1) Is the double freeze still recommended?
2) What length of time in the freezer (-30F) is considered best practice
for a precautionary "unknown wood boring beetle" situation?

Any thoughts you might have would be appreciated!
Thanks!
-Todd
