Yes ours is a Summit and it has worked flawlessly for over a decade so far. It
runs year round and I shut it down for a few weeks at the end of the year
around the holidays to defrost and give it a little rest. Ours is -32 and I
have run tests on it for efficiency. I placed a probe logger on the outside of
the cabinet above the works/motor and that heats the surface up a few degrees
when its running. It runs about 40 mins in an hour. I used a kilowatt meter and
did the math and it is equivalent of burning a 100 watt light bulb 24/7 year
round basically so it is super cheap to run. JTV

Anyone have any experience with Summit brand chest freezers? I have found a
number of them that get down to the -30/-35 C mark which should do the trick
with clothes moths and are around the $2,000-$3,000 price which is within my
budget.
