Hi Sarah,

I use the Trapper pest and mice monitor -
https://globepestsolutions.com.au/products/rodent-management/rat-mouse-traps-bait-stations/trapper-rodent-monitor

They're a hardcover plastic and we get replacement glue boards. I really like
them because they can get kicked around, stood on, or rolled under trolleys and
won't break or collapse which was happening a bit when we used cardboard traps.
You can also place the cover on so that the entrances are only big enough for
insects not mice.

Best,
Jessie

I like the catch master 288i three to a card or can be used and one big covered
rectangle or you can cut the edges off for one big flat traps...they have the
tabs that can be undone and redone. If you want them to blend in you can slap
contact paper on them when the card is whole and then cut them apart. I use to
use the jaw mouse traps but switched to the disposable one so when I am not
here the techs can just chuck the whole thing and we avoid purification. JTV

Hi,

We have been using a variety of sticky traps over the years. I like the ones
that fold into a rectangular shape only because they can fit under objects a
bit easier. I believe they are 7’x4.5” when flat. Have used Victor and
Catchmaster brands with pretty much equal success.

We do place snap traps as needed. I switched from the traditional wood ad metal
to the plastic “jaw” type and have had success with easier, not quite as gross
clean up.

Best,
Matt

Hi Sarah

I have used the Trapper brand, and they can be used as one large monitor or
three smaller monitors.

There are others that are similar, but these are the best I have used so far.

Best Wishes,

Maggie

Hi everyone!

I am currently working on updating my museum’s IMP policy and am looking at
different types of traps. Historically, we’ve purchased them from Catchmaster,
but I am also looking at other possibilities. What kind of pest trap(s) do you
use at your museum? Is there a preference between the triangle and rectangle
ones? So far, there is a staff preference for the triangle ones as they are
smaller and not an eye sore.

I welcome any thoughts and responses both on and off the list.

Thank you.

Best,
Sarah
