Hi all,

I am hoping that someone may be able to offer some pest-related help.

I am a student on the MSc Conservation for Archaeology and Musuems course at
University College London and am currently undertaking a placement year at the
Horniman Musuem and Gardens. I am hoping to do some research on investigating
the efficacy of English pot marigold (calendula officinalis) essential oil as a
repellent against varied carpet beetles, Anthrenus verbasci. Although there is
some skepticism of the effect of essential oils as repellents, I feel there is
a need to investigate alternatives to synthetic based chemicals which could be
an addition to IPM strategies.

I was wondering whether anyone knows how best to source adult A.verbasci in
England in order for me to undertake some experiments?

I would appreciate any help.

Kind regards,

Anais
