hello diana,

thanks for your respond.

how many Ctenolepisma longicaudatum are trapped in your monitoring-trapps?
and since when ?!?

Hello Volker,

Apologies in the delay in response and thank you for your thoughts on my
beetle. The other pest on the trap was indeed a silverfish.

All my best,
Diana

dear diana,

from the poor pics it could also be Stegobium paniceum ???

but personally I’m much more interested in the insect on pic 3377 at the lower
edge, which is truncated:
this could possibly be a grey silverfish (Ctenolepisma longicaudatum)

could you send an other pic please with more details…

best regards

Betreff: [PestList] Possible Cigar Beetles?

Hello Everyone,

Recently, I've been seeing tiny beetles in a couple of my traps which from my
searches I'm thinking might be cigar beetles. They measure about 1/16" and are
dark brown in color. Please see attached photographs (apologies for the poor
quality, I only had my cell phone). They only began appearing after we brought
in faux trees, wreaths, garland, etc. for the Christmas holiday. These items
are unfortunately stored in a not ideal storage space. One trap was located
under a wood table near an upholstered couch in the room the Christmas tree was
in. The other trap was located in the adjacent room between a wood music
cabinet (empty) and a leather trash bin (historical object, no trash). Can
someone please confirm if I indeed have cigar beetles?

If it makes a difference, we are a historic house located in central Florida.

Thank you,

Diana Welsh
