hello amy, I would call it a general purpose sticky trap!
all sticky traps are blundertraps - meaning that all insects, mostly crawling insects are caught in these traps, as the sticky traps are not specifically targeted at a particular type of insect like pheromone traps. although many sticky traps are advertised by distributors as such specific traps e.g. "Trappit BB Detector" by Agrisense or "Paperfish Monitor" by Killgerm best regards V o l k e r H i n g s t Dipl.-Restaurator Volker Hingst IPM-Koordinator --------------------------------------- LVR - Archivberatungs- und Fortbildungszentrum Technisches Zentrum / Papierrestaurierung Ehrenfriedstr.19 50259 Pulheim Tel.: 02234-9854-236 Fax: 0221-8284-2479 E-Mail: volker.hin...@lvr.de<mailto:volker.hin...@lvr.de> Internet: www.afz.lvr.de<http://www.afz.lvr.de/> Von: 'Sampson, Amy' via MuseumPests <pestlist@googlegroups.com> Gesendet: Dienstag, 22. The contractor is Rentokil, and all the information that the technician was able to provide me with was that it is a sticky trap, and uses yeast as a lure. As I say, I’ve not encountered this type of trap before and would like to determine if it’s particularly useful in the event of silverfish infestation, or it’s just a general purpose-type trap. Thanks, Amy. They are employing a commercial IPM contractor who are placing sticky traps that have a yeast lure inside them. I can’t seem to find much information about yeast in relation to pest management – has anyone come across anything like this before? Are they particularly successful for use with silverfish? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Amy.
