Do not click links, open attachments or take action unless you know the contents are safe] Hello! We have been struggling with outbreaks of clothes moths on our taxidermy on exhibit. While we are working with our contract pest control services to adequately treat for the pests, we are also planning an in-depth cleaning of all the taxidermy specimens this month. Our exhibit consists of four large island/walk-around dioramas along with five dioramas around the perimeter behind glass. The islands do have access panels inside, but the specimens are secured on top. The perimeter dioramas have narrow or limited access without removing the glass. Unfortunately, freeze treating the specimens is not an option. Most of the mounts are quite large (there are three bison on one diorama island) or very secured (that is, the specimen supports are embedded into the scenic diorama island). Other than the pheromone traps, what other treatment options are there that won’t potentially harm the specimens or our visitors? I’d appreciate any feedback, recommendations, or anecdotal stories you may have! Thanks, Leslie [witteemailsig.png]Leslie M.
