No. Lines that start with an '=' that is *immediately* followed by an identifier are always Pod. If there's a space after the '=' it's always an assignment. I'd much rather have to only look at the second character to determine it's Pod, not a vanilla comment. Besides, I think people will simply learn that #<symbol>[ is an embedded comment, where <symbol> specifies what kind of comment it is (I can certainly envisage other kinds besides just vanilla and Pod-flavoured) Damian
