Or not.  There's that implicit Einstein summation involved, and a
general purpose programming language isn't about to give dibbs to
summation.

I think it would have to be:

    @a = reduce { @^a Â+Â @^b } @L Â*Â @b;

And that ain't so bad (much more explicit, certainly).
