If you can't distinguish braces and parentheses (or quotes and backquotes in some other fonts), you are in deep trouble in many languages including perl5 BTW. Languages should not bend themselves (like with trigraph in C) for such particular cases. We have a paucity of characters to start with, so don't add more constraints.
