Perl internals haven't changed *that* drastically in the past month or two. However, if you get a copy of the latest bleeding edge Perl (perlhacktut will tell you how. :) then look at perlhack.pod and perlguts.pod - they've been recently reworked to include all the good bits from perlhacktut and other sources.
