One could argue it should be a MMD lookup fail instead.

But {} is not something Callable, it *is* an empty hash.

$ 6 '{}.WHAT.say'
(Hash)

So the message seems correct.  And this would appear as a case of DIHWIDT, so 
don’t do that.
