That's straight from the Unicode Standard: http://unicode.org/reports/tr29/

What they call a "grapheme cluster" we simply call a grapheme.

Also see <http://hsivonen.iki.fi/Unicode.pdf> and <http://useless-factor.blogspot.com/2007/08/unicode-implementers-guide-part-4.html> for other signs of "grapheme" (as we use it) becoming a common concept in Unicode. Heck, just do a google search for "unicode grapheme".

(And, of course, we'd love to run AppleScript 2.0 on Parrot.)
