I handed off maintainership of TGE to Patrick as part of the compiler tool chain, but I'll take it back now. (i.e. you can assign the tickets to me)
TGE is a general purpose tree transformation tool, useful even if not part of PCT, and useful for compilers that need more power/flexibility than NQP provides.
I generally update Punie to get a feel for compiler tool changes, so I'll do that after Patrick does the perl6 update. I'll have a better assessment of the new tools at that point.
