The ctags program is now detected at configuration time (this program sometimes has different names on different systems) and now 'make tags' should work out of the box for all the variations that I'm aware of (namely ctags, exuberant-ctags and ctags-exuberant). This is the situation as of r22321. If noone reports any other variants in the next three days then I'll close this ticket. Paul
