Since there have been no further comments, and since this weekend is
likely to be a slow one, I think this is a good time to apply this patch.
Please note that if you call 'make realclean' from time to time, then
*now* is a good time to do it -- before you next call 'svn update'.
That's because this patch changes the way 'make realclean' works. So
you want to call 'make realclean' one last time with your current Makefile.
Should you forget to call 'make realclean' before your next 'svn up',
then you can compensate by calling 'perl tools/dev/reconfigure.pl
--step=gen::makefiles --target=Makefile'. But that's more typing, and
you don't want to do that, do you?
