I don't see why this is confusing.  Normal vtable methods (the ones defined in 
C, for example) are not visible:

        .sub 'main' :main
            .local pmc my_int
            my_int = new .Integer

            my_int.'set_integer_native'( 10 )
            $I0 = my_int

            print "Integer: "
            print $I0
            print "\n"
        .end
