Having just read the second edition, I think "completely out of date" is a bit harsh. I think the best plan is to make sure as you go along that all of the code snippets work as expected; as when you would when normally working through a text, ie take the examples, run them, play with them, etc in order to understand them. There is always this list to ask when you get stuck. I actually think that as far as compact, easy to read summaries of Perl 6 go, this book is a treasure. Sam.
