I'd rather help you understand why it's the right choice for a virtual
machine targeting dynamic languages, but if I can't, I can't. :)

Well, I'm curious, as the only dynamic language with this feature -- Perl5 namely -- does not target Parrot, and the current users of this feature is out of necessity for working around the dynlexpad- initialization bug, not to implement any language features of their own.

Indeed, I'll welcome a writeup of why :immediate is useful and how you envision it to be used; that'd be much better than "because it's a dynamic-evaluation-during-compilation feature, and we are working with dynamic-typing-during-runtime languages, so of course we want it".

But I guess this bug ticket is not an appropriate place for my education to take place. Maybe include it as part of :immediate documentation under docs/?

Thanks,
Audrey
