Oops! I forgot to mention to the list(s) that I've since fixed PGE so that it is able to parse scalar aliases. It's still not completely correct, as it still places the capture into the current match object instead of the appropriate (lexical) scalar. Thanks, Matt, for prompting me to remember. :-) Pm
