For CPANTS I see no reason.
For search results quite the opposite. I'd really like if if the default
way people got search results back for CPAN modules at least attempted
to order at some level based on citations. (ie number of pre-requisites)

For example, I believe that that way the 4 or so decent template modules
would fall out immediately from the 50 others on CPAN. And that this is
worth doing because the commonly used templating modules are almost
certainly what most people who need to search would find more than good
enough. Rather than letting them fight through bogosorted results and
getting swamped by choice.

But it seems that there is something amiss with the roundness of my stock
of tuits. (or in other words there are things I find I care more about and
deal with first)
