Not at all, and keep in mind that I didn't propose this out of the blue. "bands", "bxors" and "bors" are existing string ops and have been for a long time. I was just proposing rounding out the bit operator set. Go check out the ops/bit.ops in CVS. It's even well documented. I don't think Dan was being at all contradictory or inconsistent in his string postings, given that those ops were already there.
