Like Nick, I've never really got into RSS feeds yet. I've always
wanted to find a way to have changes emails to me. Your post prompted
me to look again and I found a couple of ready-made scripts:

 (Randal probably has a newer version of that by now)

And there's http://rss.blogstreet.com/ which can generate emails
from RSS feeds and store them in an IMAP email account for you.
