Okay, I figure it's time for a quick status report from me, since
I've been missing from the list of late and it's been showing. (Leo's
been doing grand things but at some point he's going to run out of
old mistakes of mine and'll need new ones to work with :)
Tomorrow (tuesday) I'm heading out to Seabastapol CA for a week-long
perl 6 design get-together thingie. This is the second in a
series--since the group's small (Larry, Damian, Allison, and me,
unless Steve can get there) we churn through a lot of semantics and
syntax, at least we should if the last time we did this (in Zurich)
is any indication.
This is good for two reasons--first, I'll be flying which always
leaves me with free time once the batteries run down so I can churn
through some pending design stuff and hopefully get a unified
low-level object system put together. Second, any pending Odd
Behaviour that might be coming down the pike for perl 6 will be
worked out. I don't expect any, but Larry & Damian have surprised me
before.
After that I'm up in Seattle for a day, at Amazon (monday the 10th).
I do have a vicious editor and book deadlines, and a quickly upcoming
short-term contract, so my parrot time'll be a bit limited. I'm going
to try *very* hard to get objects finally defined this upcoming week
(something to do in the evenings if my brain's still functional) so
folks have things to churn on while I'm in reduced-access mode.
Sorry I've been getting in the way--I'm trying to get some of the
bottlenecks cleared out so I won't be as much in the way for a while.
