my only question with doing away with '{' and '}' are dealing with
issues of automagical stringification/number conversion with different
types of the same name. would this be an issue?
would $a be the 5th element of
$ambig[$a] or would it be the "\04" key to $ambig[$a]
PS I dont know if perl 5 allows for octal indexes as it is : )Roman
