No. We've learnt that lesson, at least :-)

My understanding is that:

         @c[0]++

will get you a run-time "Modification of a read-only value attempted" exception.

The Perl 5 analogy for binding an array is what happens to @_ in a subroutine:

        sub foo { $_[0]++ }

        foo(1,2,3);
