That's an interesting question. Personally, I think patches to the list are 
the best thing, followed (way, *way* down) by patches to Simon. Patches 
directly to me are a bad thing, but that's mainly because my Inbox is a 
black hole which things fall into and never emerge from. :)

Pretty soon we'll be getting more folks with checkin permission, and I'm 
working on getting some of the independent subsystems sketched out so folks 
can, for example, start in on the I/O system or the various variable types.
