Just to keep people keeping things in perspective, the idea of a CIL is not
particularly earthshattering and, in fact, we've already got one. I spent
yesterday modifying Leon Brocard's excellent 'Shiny' compiler toolkit to
output, execute and deparse Perl bytecode from Ruby source.
