You don't need the double quotes around $Str- not even in Perl5!

Doublequotes are " " not ( ). (language... bracket confusion is far too
common) It's the `, "$Str",`, that can just be `, $Str,`.
Oh I get it now. I was confused () with "".
The guys over on the chat line keep telling me "death to parenthesis!",
so I was in the mode!
