Sort of. More like the functions exported by a module to things that 
subclass the module and need Special Access(tm). So the world might not see 
perl_add_token_check(), but the parser would provide it to parser extensions.

Also, check the bibliography that got posted to perl6-meta--the advanced 
compiler book I put on the list is one I rather like.
