ISBN: 020165783X not sure about online refs, try looking for stuff by grady booch (use cases led to UML), ivar jacobson and jim rumbaugh (the three amigos). they work for rational. uml can be used in two ways, simply a design language (fowler's book has templates for the graphics used etc) and then also a unified method for development. it's possible to get some tools that have the UML templates already incoporated into them. i think that the design aspect is the most useful aspect of UML and then we would determine our own method/cycle for development. peter
