MARC::Record 1.39_02 appears to be the latest version on CPAN that would work on 5.8.0. MARC::Record 2.x is incompatible with pre-5.8.2 versions of Perl due to Unicode-related changes. The change was announced in a Perl4Lib message "MARC::Record v2.0 RC1", sent Fri 5/20/2005 2:35 PM, by Ed Summers.
