I have updated CVS with code that checks the default output encoding and sets the binmode on the file appropriately. I also added support to the out() method for an optional encoding parameter to override the default encoding. For instructions on installing MARC-XML from source, please see http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=1254 -- the module name is marc-xml.
