I haven't had a chance to make any updates to MARC::File::MARCMaker
<http://home.inwave.com/eija/inprocess/marc-marcmaker0.03/> (an early
version of a module to convert files to and from MARCMaker format (as used
by MarcEdit and the LC tools <http://www.loc.gov/marc/makrbrkr.html>.)
lately, but have been thinking about its distribution. The most recent
version, as I mentioned in a message to this list on Aug. 15, 2005, appears
to successfully convert ISO2709 to MARCMaker format and back (using the
latest pre-2.0 version of MARC::Record). The character encoding section of
the current version of the module is taken almost directly from MARC.pm
(which works well for what I've used it for, but I haven't had to deal with
Unicode or even non-English characters). There are some remnants of code
commented out that I hope to remove when I have a chance to work on this
again, and more tests are probably needed to verify that everything is
working as intended.

Would it be possible to add or have this package added to CVS in
SourceForge, as marc-marcmaker at
<http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/marcpm/>? Is there objection to this?
Other suggestions?

A tarball of the current version is at
<http://home.inwave.com/eija/inprocess/marc-marcmaker0.03.tar.gz>.

Thank you for your assistance,

Bryan Baldus
