Parsing Ebsco Holdings Data

I am about to embark on writing parsing script so convert 
ebsco holdings data that they provide in their title lists 
from text like "Dec 1987- | 12 month full text embargo" to a 
holdings format that can be used by a link resolver, like
"19871201|20030101".   Before I begin just thought I'd check 
to see if anyone has already done this and is willing to 
share :)
