Raj, You need to run the TELNET (or FTP or other service) on the Windows 2003 machine, not your Windows XP machine. (BTW, TELNET itself does not have a way to transfer files between computers. You'll need either FTP, or use special programs such as XMODEM or ZMODEM to transfer files with TELNET.) There is no way to force another computer to transfer files, execute commands, or do anything, unless it is running the appropriate service which enables such actions. You cannot simply install a program on your XP machine and force the 2003 machine to accept it; Your 2003 machine needs the correct service running to handle the request from your XP machine. As for which service or module you should install and use on the 2003 machine, I do not have any suggestions yet; I need to better understand what you want to do. If all you want to do is share files, use Windows/SAMBA file sharing or figure out how to get FTP to work on 2003. Then install a SAMBA or FTP client on your XP machine which can access the SAMBA or FTP service on the 2003 machine. If you want only a specific file or directory that never changes, you can write a perl program that is custom designed to share only that file/directory. There are also many other options, all depending on what exactly you need to do (besides simply saying you want to copy a file.. you'll need to be more specific.)
