Hello Philip,

The only thing you can do ist to deactivate the XP firewall for the time to use the ppm. Here in my office I have deactivated the XP firewall, because we are behind a hardware firewall. And as I know software firewalls are not secure enough to avoid hacking of the PC, only a good hardware
firewall can do this.

I already tried turning off the XP firewall.
It didn't help I'm afraid.

Hm, than I do not know what you can do. Have you tryed to open the ppm.ActiveState.com in a Browser?
Does this work?
If this work you can download the zips from http://ppm.activestate.com/PPMPackages/zips/8xx-builds-only/Windows/.

Reinhard

Yes I can do that. I guess I will then have to vreate a "local
repository" and install the package with ppm from there, or
can I just unzip the package in some appropriate location?

Just unzip the package and look in the readme file how to use ppm to install the module.
