why does the "Add " function work here past a sheetcount of 255, when
the "Copy" function that I mentioned in my original post, throws an
error when when the sheetcount > 255 ???
I should have mentioned in my original post that I have an
existing Excel sheet that I need to open and use as a "Template" for all
the other sheets in this workbook that I'm creating.
Thanks in advance for any help here.... I'm stumped.

Not sure. I'd like to look at it but can't right now. If you can do what
youre after with a recorded macro then it's just a question of
converting that nasty VBA to Perl.
I can think of a forced solution which would be to copy the required
ranges of your template sheet and then paste it into the new sheets that
you added. I've done that type of pasting before - you can contact me
offline for the code if you like.
If youre lucky Jan or Chuck might reply your thread, but nowadays I
don't see them reply to OLE questions - that said If you don't get any
joy here try perlmonks.
