Hello, On some (perhaps all) laptops running Windows XP closing the "lid" puts the system into hibernation. If someone steals a laptop, they would close the lid before carrying it away. I am aware of neighborhoods in which thieves enter apartments and walk away with laptops (among other things).
I would like to write a perl script that detects when the laptop is going into hibernation, aborts the hibernation and starts sounding an alarm. Is this possible? If so, please indicate what calls/modules the script would invoke/utilize.
